Just got back from a sports car club meeting, I don't know how many have heard of the Mongol Rally? It's a non-competitive rally from England (Goodwood Race Track) all the way to Mongolia, one of the club members participated in it this past August and put together a video of his experience, he went along with a friend and his daughter... It's not really a classic car rally, as they encourage the use of cars 10 years old or newer, the cars that finish stay in Mongolia for use there (the whole point of the rally is for charity)... He used a 2001 Toyota Corolla his brother purchased for him in England... His route was through Europe, the former Yugoslavia, Greece, all the former Soviet countries of central Asia, up north into Siberia, then back south into Mongolia (it's difficult and costly to travel through China)
Anyway his video was excellent (he's good at them), and it sounded like an adventure of a lifetime...

And on another note, his daughter has seen more of the world than me (and she's half my age!
) I've concluded that my life is really boring... My itinerary of world travel is extremely pathetic and not likely to change anytime soon...
