grease on starter gear?

Do you guys grease your starter pinion gear with anything? Or just leave it dry?

Leave it dry. I've never seen one greased up.
 
Over the years the argument I've heard fluctuates between running the Bendix unit of the starter completely clean and dry or whether to put powdered graphite or moly on them. I'm a proponent of graphite or moly. Regardless, never use grease.
 
Dry it is!

Thanks so much--I was tempted to put grease on there, so I think you guys saved me some headache down the road.
