TR2/3/3A Grease cap

Yeah, already did the rear studs; quite the job. Used blue Locktight which did not set up; should have used red.
Waiting to see if Moss has a solution to the grease cap.

Moss indicated the same as we all thought. One hub for all.
only conclusion is that PO installed hubs from another vehicle which has compatible bearings and lug pattern.
I am going to rehab spare hubs and change over.

Just a thought; you might check with FLAPS to see if they have a small tailpipe expander. Normally used for enlarging a tail pipe (so it will fit over another pipe of the same size), but I don't see any reason a small one couldn't expand a dust cap.

If you have a drill press or a lathe and a piece of hard wood, you might be able to make an expander that would work. Turn it to just fit into the cap, then cut in half and drive a tapered punch through it to expand it inside the cap.

Here's my trick after the same frustration with new caps that you have had:

I use a 2x6 scrap held flat against the cap which is started in the hub by a a hair just enough not to fall out; then I whack the 2x6 with a 3lb+ sledge (aka bfh). The force of the action will mushroom/deform the cap enough to spread the base and slide into the hub. You have to really whack it hard with direct force. And voila it is in. Getting it out is another discussion....

Works for me, give it a try.
