I know a guy who served on Torsk for several of her war patrols.
He started on on battlewagons, had two shot out from under him, transferred to boats.

Until the owners lost the Juliette in Providence, I and a friend went out there several times to put systems back on line.
Had 4 BIG missile tubes.

You never know...
 
And then yesterday we took the twin grandchildren (18 mo's) to OMSI here in Portland, and behold there tied up and available for tours is SS581/USS Blueback https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipe...ueback_e.jpg/300px-DSCN6760_ussblueback_e.jpg.
Article says it was the last conventional powered sub in the fleet when retired; fleet all nuke thereafter. We were too late arriving to get a tour. We're here until the 9th so may visit OMSI again.
