Graphite Grease for Felt Bushings in Steering Col?

I am installing new felt bushings in the steering column of my MG-TF and the book says to put Graphite Grease on the inside of the felt.

I am having a hard time locating graphite grease but I did find
STA-LUBE - MOLY GREASE which says the following:

"General-purpose for a wide range of applications. Lithium 12 Hydroxy protection of moly and graphite."

It appears to have graphite in it and the only other Graphite I can locate is powder.

What do you all use to lubricate the felt bushing in the top and bottom of your steering column?
 
Soak in heavy graphite oil for a while and you should be good to go. You don't want to use an actual grease, like the kind you put in bearings.
 
That should be fine, Curtis.

We used "Molycote-G" for 'em for years. Graphite in suspension with molybdenum grease.

One thing makes a "funny" issue: if the column is painted and the felt is oil soaked it will stiffen up and be HARD to turn. The moly grease works MUCH better.
 
You know, I seem to remember the original stuff was sort of a waxy material that you had to melt, then soak the felt in. I'm pretty sure it wasn't normal grease but rather a super heavy oil that would sort of solidify. I'll have to check with the old-timers on this one.
