I'm currently working on a new design for the school district (my employer). I'm getting closer to something I like, and was wondering if I could get a few opinions from y'all.

I've got a version of the look and feel installed on my personal site. The school version is a bit different, but mostly similar.

I'm much more of a programmer than I am a design guy, so any thoughts from the more design-oriented folks here would be appreciated.

I like it. The option for larger text size is nice and with FF it blows up nicely (cntrl +) it is easy to read and i liked it right off the bat /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

I think your doing a great job on the design of the site. Easy to get around and everything works. The problem I find with some sites is, the developer gets so fancy, it's hard to figure just where to go for more information. I like the clean simple approach. Nice job! Keep it up. JMHO. PJ

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the feedback.

Nice! Very clean and easy to navigate. The only thing that jumped out at me was the size of the organizational chart in the Departments section, it was a bit hard to read.

I hate websites that are unorganised, and hard to find anything. Worse yet, is clicking on what you think to be what you want only to find you get redirected to some content that you have NO interest in.
Yours however look clean and straight forward I LIKE it!
The option to change font size is nice, especially for us FOSSILS that no longer have the eyesight we once did.
Good Work!

I've been reading a bunch about accessibility in regards to websites. As a government entity, there are a bunch of things that we should be doing to make our information accessible to everybody, regardless of any impairments. The font size switch is actually a CSS style sheet switch, witch will also allow me to also provide a high-contrast look, and really pretty much anything else. Neat technology for the geek in me. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Cliff, you must have gotten to my current school site (Park City School District), though I'm not quite sure how you found it. Good thought on the org chart -- it's currently just a JPEG version of the chart. I may have to try and see if I can come up with something better.

Thanks for the advice, though. you must have gone here:

somehow. That's the current site, to be replaced this summer with the new look. That old site has served us well, but it's time for a bit of freshening.
