For the "lighter than air" fans:

This link takes you to a Netherlands website which shows the entire 90 minute film "Farewell". The 2009 film tells the story of the 'round the world flight of the LZ-127 in 1929, told mostly through the words of Grace Marguerite, Lady Hay Drummond-Hay, who made the entire flight. Although a few details were added to "enhance" the story, the entire video of the film is period newsreels, photographs, and production records. Very interesting footage, including many scenes of Hugo Eckener at the "wheel".

Interesting side note: During World War II, Lady Drummond-Hay and her former lover Karl H. von Wiegand, a journalist employed by the Hearst Corporation, were both held in a Japanese internment camp in Manila, Philippines.

Tom: That requires a software download to view. Wonder if it's also on youtube.

If I drive 1/4 from my Dad's house, I can see ~Hanger #1~ at Lakehurst.

When we were kids ('60s), we'd wave to the Navy guys in the blimps and they'd wave back.

Hi Nail -

Do you recall what the "add-on" message was?

I run WinXP SP3 with all the standard MS Windows updates (all 10 bazillion of 'em). I went to that url and watched the film with no problem, in Firefox and in IE.

Tom
Edit: the movie trailer is on YouTube, but not the full film.
