Gotta love living in Monterey Co.

Only in Monterey can you drive to work in rush hour traffic alongside a Mustang GT350, and then be passed by a D-Type Jaguar on your way home in the same day.

I love the automotive culture here.

Joel - I also loved it when we were stationed at the Presidio of Monterey for language school back in 1971-72....we lived up on Tortilla Flats with a view of the bay. Our daughter was born there so she's a true Californian. It was a great place back then and we've got some wonderful memories.

Tony, I can't complain. There are worse places to be right now. Just keeping my fingers crossed for my next duty station.

Oh yeah - great movie...loved Carmel, Big Sur, the whole experience

The only celebrity we see around here nowadays is Clint Eastwood down in Carmel. I don't know if he is still the mayor, but he has a couple of restaurants there. One of the restaurants, the Hogsbreath, makes a pretty good pale ale.

Ed - I bet that was a handful when Ft. Ord was a basic training post. You know it was shut down about 10 years ago? We still go out there and play war games though. It's insane. It could be 70 degrees in Monterey, 80 in Salinas, but out on Ft. Ord it will be 95. Go figure.

BTW - saw a '57 T-Bird, some incarnation of the Alfa GTV, another Jag (xk120 or 140 can't tell the difference), and a Ferrari Testarossa. All in one day again. I feel like a kid in a candy shop.
