MGB Got the Vredesteins!

Well, bit the bullit, after a lot of research and speaking with some auto crossing members. Got the Sprint Classics and now my GT is nimble, quick steering, very responsive and glued to the road, with tall, skinny tires. Very soft compound and dide is no harsher than 185/70s. Feels like I wanted it to. Got them from Summit racing. The price was the same as all the well known, classic tire companies, but shipping was free! So. I solved the yokahama problems. got, by the book, 165x14s and they grip and make the B feel like I recall from when I had As and Bs, years ago. I really did not want a modern feel; I would get a great, early Miata for that. My car is not correct and numbers don't match, but I built it with all used or rebuilt B parts, correct for the time it was made, with the exception of stuff only availeable from the catalogue folks. That is "fairly stock", tires made some screeching, but seemed to hold road, until the spin. What were the fairly mods you made; engine sounded great?

same question here. I have a 70 bgt and do "spirited" driving in the hills of the Hudson valley. weight distribution on gt is 52 f, 48 r. 32 all around felt good but hard on bumps, jarring in front end. Went 28/32 and less jarring on front end. Don't know if I am at optimal level yet. Dennis P

Mods on the car in the video?

Windshield delete, bumpers delete, interior delete, lowered about an inch, 3/4 camshaft, Venolia flat topped pistons +.020", steel racing wheels (heavy). Small muffler with side pipe accounts for the sound. Stock transmission, differential and leaf springs and dampers.

It does seem exciting, but that was just a noisy ride because of the concrete patches. I'm way at the very back of the pack in that race - maybe even in last place after the spin.
