TR6 Got Out The TR6 after 2 Years of Storage!

My wife and I went to my inlaws lake house for a long weekend trip. When I arrived my mother in law was still their getting things together for us. Before she left she tosed me the keys to the TR6 and said "charge the battery and drive it some this weekend. it needs to be driven and I want to drive it before summer is up!" I smiled and said with pleasure! I wasted no time. I went to the garage uncoverd the car poped the hood and hooked up the charger with plans of taking it for a breakfest spin in the morning. Well that did not happen. Those keys were berning a hole in my pocket 5 hours later. At 1 AM (Yes we were still up, were young!) I went out checked the fluids removed the charger and gave it a spin. Fired wright up! I let it warm up and then I stalled it! (My wife has been picking on me ever since!) I fired it back up and we took it for a 30 min drive around some back roads and then put it up. We drove it several more times over the weekend and it ran great. I hope this story inspires some of you to get those cars out of long term storage and drive them. And incase anyone is wondering what he put in the tank 2 years ago for storage it was Stable. Seems to work great. Any ways moter on

I did the same thing about four years ago. I haven't stopped playing it with it since.

Have fun.....

Another testimonial for Sta-Bil. I have been a believer for years. Thanks for sharing and Have Fun.

I've had mixed results with Sta-Bil (gummed up the carbs on some lawn equipment) but it does work for many.

With the addition of 10% Ethanol and more to come, the only way to get the octane we need is to drain the tank each spring. I parcel it out to the cars and use the rest for the lawn machines. Trouble is, my Kubota is diesel so can't use it there.

But, we also don't drive our cars enough so your advice is well taken. Get out and drive. Thank you.

(I'm starting a new topic on the ethanol pending crisis)

lake houses ROCK... perfect for a old sports car.
