The Heritage Certificate just came in the mail today. "Baby Blue" was built between April 25 - 29, 1969. It sat until June 2, 1969 when it was sent across the pond and ended up in Chicago, Illinois. The car was Mineral Blue (as it is today) with black trim and a black roof (hood). I'm presuming that was the week it was built and not that it took four days to build? I guess it means my car has a birthday coming up!
Under details of factory fitted equipment it states "Disc wheels, Heater, Tonneau Cover". What exactly is a "Disc Wheel"? Were heaters optional on the Sprite?
There are also a couple of other serial numbers for the gearbox and rear axle. It will be interesting to see if these are the originals with the car. The car seemed to have worked its way east, as it was in Harrisburg when Longbridgehealey purchased it. So, I only have about 40 of its 45 years to "fill in".
