Yesterday was a planned day off to run around over half of Indiana county getting paperwork from various people and running it all in to the real estate office so that hopefully I can close on my house this Wednesday. I could see that my Dad hadn't left for work yet so the Spitfire was still sleeping inside the garage.
One challenge in taking it though was his G6 was parked right outside in front of the Spit. ...Hmmm... Now as many of you know, Spitfires have amazing turning circles, and if you combine that tight steering lock with a very dirty cement floor, you can make some very sharp turns without chewing up the tires. As I was about to swing out the other garage bay door I realized why the G6 was in front of the Spitfire rather than in the storage spot where it has been for the last week... Spitfire had a flat back tire.
I can't complain too much as it is the first flat that car has had in 20 years. Turns out that the tire is punctured in a very hard place to fix so I traded that wheel out for the spare and ran all my errands in style.
Today driving to work I followed PSP down Rt 119. With the driveline issues sorted out and the tune up I did last night the old girl sang happily along at 85mph.
Pretty much solved all my problems Triumph related. Now if I could just get the house closed and figure out who owns the beige Jeep that keeps trying to run the fiance off the road....
