Got awarded an art grant!

The state gives out grants twice a year for $500 to professional artist for various things. I applied this last time and got it! Kelly got it once before too as well as the $5000 fellowship grant they give out. I'll give that a shot this coming year as well so keep your fingers crossed. I'm more excited about being "officially designated" than I am the money. (but 500 bucks doesn't hurt though. :grin

Yes and no, more of the same series which is what the grant is for basically. Mixed media show is coming up. I may enter something I made a few months ago or I may do something else instead. We have to move Kelly's studio to a new location in the historical/arts district in March plus I may have to do some remodeling there. I don't know how big of a window I have to make something else. I have two pieces in Fairhope, Al that I may enter but I don't know if they sold yet or not. One photographs well, that how they usually choose the invitastion "cover" piece. Kelly got the cover in 2011 (or maybe 2010, I can't remember but she's gotten it a few times before), I got it in 2012 an Kelly got it again last year. It would be cool if one of us got it again. I have an old piano I'd like to do something with so who knows what I'll do this year.
