Got a notice today that my steering wheel has shipped from the builder!

For those who don't remember, two years ago I ordered a custom wheel from a well know builder. For a variety of reasons the project was delayed -- I was not in a huge rush, so while a bit frustrating the delay was understandable. Today I got a FedEx notice... woohoo!

Unfortunately it is scheduled to show up on Saturday, when I'll be on a plane headed to RI for the week. So I'll have to wait one more week to see the new wheel, but it'll be here.

Boy, that took awile. That's why I did not go with him. I could die of old age.

Hey Drew, if you happen to be away when Hap sends the engine, I'll look after it a while, I'll break it in for you for free!
Post some pics of that wheel when you get it....
Is this the Nardi?

Thanks, Barry -- always thinking of others, eh? Whatta guy.

This is a Derrington style wheel with a small hub that takes the original Bugeye horn push. Should look like this one:

Small independent shops do take extra time, for certain. I wanted something special for the Tunebug, so was willing to wait. I had something very specific in mind when I went looking for a wheel, and he was able to do that for me.

I'll definitely post pics when its in. A bummer that it'll be sitting at my house for a week while I'm not there.

Drew:

If you like I can test fit it on my car while you are away

Very pretty wheel. My personal preference is no "rivets", I find them distracting. Sharp in any case!
