Got a NOS "grille finisher" - how does it attach?

Here's what I need to attach to my grille, but what kind of fasteners do I use?

Moss shows 8 of these 455-330, but my center mounts are different from the others.

Rick, aluminum pop rivets are what the factory used.
I think they're 1/8".

Where did you find it Rick, I still can't find mine. I have no idea where it is? I need another grill surround and they seem very expensive from moss or vb.

Re: Got a NOS "grille finisher" - how does it atta

Hi Kim, are you talking about the 4 piece surround that includes the piece that attaches to the lip of the hood?
I got mine from these British ebay sellers:
BriteBritBitz

If it's the smaller - inner piece for the grill itself (like the one pictured above) then you really have to watch the sales. The come up once in a while.

Ok, in the Moss picture I see the eight clips.
However there is clearly another attachment for the center top and bottom which doesn't look the same. What is used on the center top & bottom? It looks like it's some kind of fastener that holds the two pieces together.

I think you need a stud fitting like this Moss part: 326-077

Re: Got a NOS "grille finisher" - how does it atta

That looks like the right idea - but size matters.

I see these which may be different sizes:

326-705 STUD PLATE, front two positions
326-075 STUD PLATE, center position
326-725 STUD PLATE, second rearmost position
326-735 STUD PLATE, rear position
326-077 STUD PLATE (front end of sill)&(rear of fender)

The side ones that I listed are probably the closest, but may need to be ground down. Local autobody shop may have something in the bins that would work. Or make something your self out of scrap sheet metal and small machine screw.

I think I'll walk across the street to my local True Value hardware store and see what they have. Might be something just right in one of their fastener bins, now that I have a pretty good idea what to look for. Thanks!

Re: Got a NOS "grille finisher" - how does it atta

Sorry about that, Rick. I thought you were talking about the grille suround pieces.

No problem Jeff.
I thought last night "hey I have some detached MG trim out in the shed, maybe there are some fasteners" - I'm going out to look at that today. Maybe I'll get lucky!
