Just picked one of these babies up from the Snap-on man.
I saw them on the truck, and instantly thought "Alignment"!!! These ought to be just the ticket on rusty tie rods...
I also ordered one of these .
They work by jamming the "crotch" of the fingers on the metal pipe at the end of where the rubber hose is pushed on (I'm speaking of a junction of a vacuume or heater hose where it's slid over a steel tube.) then squeeze and it "pushes" the rubber hose off the end of the steel line... They work slick!

Those hose removers are slick, don't know how many times I have cut the hose off.

I think Tony needs a pair (NEEDS) of these for his parts removal kit. hehe.
 
The hose pliars are truly slick. I've used them before. They solve what I call the "Chineese finger trap" syndrome of rubber hoses. the harder you pull on a rubber hose, the tighter it grabs the steel line. These pliars push on the end of the hose and easily break the seal by expanding the hose a little.
they're only $13, and worth every bit of it...

Next time I see a snap-on truck think I will stop him.

That's kind of neat.

Just checked Snap-on UK and its the same in ÂŁ as $ (12.57 vs 12.60) so its not as painful as most of their imports.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
