I am almost ashamed to admit it these days, but I actually owned a R8 Gordini. It was once a race car, complete with track tech stickers, roll cage, extra fuel tank, etc. It had been hit in one rear quarter and the tail panel when I got it, and I could not find the sheetmetal to fix it ( Mid 70s). I traded it for a BSA 650. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Now, with the internet and vintage racing, it is probably worth a bit more. I hope it survives and is having some extended track life. I had the head off once. I remember it as having some very odd combustion chamber features( not to mention twin webers...)
