Apparently Google cloud was hacked yesterday.
Over a million (they say)
Google email accts were hacked
(1,000,001 if you count mine.)
Gmail address books are being used to send out nasty stuff under "regular" names, but weird email addresses.
By attached links.

I don't like Google (never mind why). Luckily, I do not have a Google email, but thanks for the heads up for those who do use gmail.

Interestingly have received a number of those - that's why

I have a gmail account..tertiary...and one thing I have never, ever done is address books on-line, gmail, webmail, nothing. Hack away, you won't get anything from me.

Unless - the folks who have your email address are hacked.

What tangled webs we weave ...

From what I've read, Google "cloud" wasn't hacked at all. But. nefarious forces with GMail accounts were targeting millions of GMail addresses.

it's all magic to me.......
good magic when it works right
black magic when it doesn't

i heard if you recieved an evil email & you were duped into opening the link, the rascals gain full access to your computer, your financial & other links, passwords, etc.

i think it's time to advance back to gold coins system again.

Except...the original post in this thread reads: "Gmail address books are being used to send out nasty stuff under "regular" names, but weird email addresses. By attached links."

So....since I do not have address books on-line, the hackers cannot access my address books to do whatever they do with them to create hate and discontent on the algore.

And that's really good damage control on the part of google, right? Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. We weren't really hacked. Somebody just somehow got over one million e-mail addresses that happened to be gmail.....not our problem....go talk to yahoo...quick, modify our google search results to steer everyone away from our failings....
