Event: Henri Chapron EV Launch Day

Cost: Free entry to the track for BCF members (donations to Ukrainian humanitarian charities encouraged). A very limited number of drivers' places are available for experienced track drivers, by prior arrangement.
Facilities: Food and drink available for purchase at several outlets around the circuit
Event to mark the relaunch of the Henri Chapron car company of Paris (1919-1985) as a 21st century classic EV coachbuilder. The prototype electric Citroen DS Decapotable EV (aka droptop/convertible) will be on display, along with a number of other classic EVs from other producers, including Everrati's Ford GT40 EV, EV motorbikes and more.
This is all set against traditional "vapour" driven action on the track and in the paddock. There will be wide range of 1950s British sportscars on track, including a 1954 Austin Healey 100 BN1, 1954 Jaguar XK120 (the car which was raced by Dennis Sullivan on the inaugural day of racing at Laguna Seca, back on 9 November 1957), 1956 MGA Roadster, 1958 MGA Twin Cam and a 1958 Triumph TR3A with original factory steel hardtop. There will also be American V8's on track including a race spec 1964 Ford Galaxie 500, a 1979 Pontiac Firebird (memories of Smokey & the Bandit, the Rockford Files and Kill Bill) and, hopefully, a running replica of "Le Monstre" - the 1954 special bodied Cadillac that competed at Le Mans in 1954, which will be fresh back from attempting to complete the Le Mans Classic 24hr at the end of June. Do come along for a chat, watch and general fun day, and bring your classic along if you have one. Drivers' places are available for experienced track drivers, by prior arrangement.
