Well, I have learned a lot through people at BCF, reading, and the experience of working on my car over the last couple of years. One thing I have learned is that it is not always me when things don't work right. I am presently working on my carbs. The rear diaphragm I bought from VB and installed two years ago tore in three places after my cross country trip. I left the front diaphragm alone at the time and it is still showing no signs of wear. The front diaphragm is thinner, but much stronger than the rear diaphragm. The thiness allows the air valve to be much more responsive too. I tore apart a carb from another 69 TR6 this week that had sat for 20 years, and the diaphragms are just like the well made diaphragm in my front carb. (My car sat unoperative in a garage for 25 years before I bought it.) Obviously somewhere along the way the quality went downhill. I just received my new diaphragms from Moss. The same problem as with the VB ones. I am guessing that if I take another shot with TRF I am going to get the same substandard diaphragms. Does anyone have a source that sells good parts for these carbs?
