MGB Good people go to heaven, bad people replace MGB clutch hydraulics

Well that was fun. Half a day on Saturday, all day on Sunday.

Was a last minute project, wasn't expecting to have the time this weekend to work on the MGB, but some plans changed very last minute and I had some time open up. Would have called some friends to help, but I was stuck in quickly and never stopped to bring in the troops.

In the end I removed the distributor so I could remove the starter so I could remove the clutch hose. It all came out without too much trouble, and went back together without a lot of fuss, just a lot of time. Getting the bottom bolt in on the clutch master cylinder was interesting (I used a little black silicone to glue it into place), and the top bolt on the starter had to be retapped and replaced. Still, it's all back in and bled (thank you EZBleed). All in I did a new clutch master, slave, and hose. I pulled the hard line as well, and it looked to still be in great shape so it went back in.

Not something I want to do again anytime soon, but now it's all in good order and sorted. Still have to do a full service on the car, then it'll be back on the road and solid.

you know it's a lot easier if you pull the engine. Then it takes like 15 seconds to change out that lower hose. :3

I was beginning to contemplate that. Getting that starter out was hard enough -- my word that sucker is heavy!
