Good Lord!

Me Ol' Fella's councel: "Ya can't tell th' players without a program."

...he really liked Groucho.

Hehehe.......Reminds me of the senior genetics/botany project in college I abandoned.

I got the idea that I could introduce the THC gene into goldenrod so that it was vigorously expressed.
I could then play "Johny Appleseed" & singlehandedly cause marijuana to become legalized.

(Or else they could try burning all the goldenrod in the north eastern United States)

Ah-Choo!...Hehehe

...sooo many things come to mind...

Must resist... MuStreSiSt... mUStrEsIst...

For the record, I find the story I posted extremely disturbing and I hope that guy spends the rest of his natural life behind bars.

I must agree.

What really needs asking is: How did he get into the position in the first place? "Who's minding the store?"

We had a similar situation in Florida recently. I know two incidents don't make a "trend" but it does become a real concern as to whether this is happening elsewhere. Makes my nape-hairs stand on end.

I surmise most people know how meth is made, what it is made out of and who {what type of people} are concocting the chemicals, Yet they still choose to ingest this highly toxic substance. I just don`t understand why anyone would act so irresponsibly.

It is the most {literaly} filthy drug on the planet.

There should be an automatic enhancer added to any sentence for an offence such as this, an atomatic 30 years minimum added to whaever sentence the court may pass. It should be applied to anyone in such a position of trust, whether that person is a school principal or a cop.

What pops into my mind is, "Give him his 9 grams"........

We have a meth house busted in the county just south of us about once a month. They love to tuck away in the hills in some small trailer and set up shop.

When they mix this stuff up, if there is such a thing as "Smart Ones" {at least the smart ones are} suited up like a hazmat team, resporators and all.
To think anyone would willingly be even remotely involved let alone use Meth is beyond my comprehension.
I agree, I think the penalties for manufacturing and or distributing this substance should be severe. It is a sad day when our courts say "Oh they just need rehabilitation"
I SAY Poppycock!!!

Probably needed cash to keep his LBC going. A small scale John Delorean.

You should be able to give any kid a gym bag containing the following.

* One pound of cocaine
* One UZI pistol & 1000 rounds of 9mm
* One Million dollars cash

And not have to worry about him/her.

We are setting our standards way to low if we have to worry about the influence of other people on our children.

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gif Unfortunatly, the family unit as it was years ago is often just not there today. My wife and I brought up our kids the best we knew how, and somehow they both turned out just great, despite the myriad of forces and pressures working against them. I'd like to think that we had everything to do with how they turned out, but I think oftentimes we just lucked out.

In a perfect world, I agree. But in the world where I live, there is something called peer pressure and some kids are more susceptible to it than others. Case in point: I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s during the hippy-dippy, tie-died, free-love, plastic banana, good time rock n’ roll drug culture. I did not smoke dope or do other similar things (that I considered stupid), but 90-percent of my school mates did – even those with excellent, caring parents. When kids spend as much time as they do away from parents, and they have so many bad influences around, well, they can get into trouble even if they are the best kids in the world. That’s just reality.

The bottom line for me is, any adult placed in a position of trust with children who would do something like this should never see the light of day again. Period.

My opinion is based upon years of directly observing the imperfect world of corrections.

We allow people who DIRECTLY hurt children out, in order to make room for crack heads.

This guy will serve a longer sentence than a pedophile.

You think I'm exaggerating.....I am not.

Before you call for someone to be put in jail, first ask yourself.....
Who are we suppose to release?

I can tell you for a FACT that we just left a whole bunch of nastier guys than that out today.

You're right - shoot em! Look, this guy was SELLING to kids - THAT IS DIRECTLY HURTING THEM! On the topic of pedophiles, personally I say just line em' up and shoot em! Bill O'Reilly (#1 show on cable whether you like him or not, I don't care), is on a crusade to strengthen the laws in that regard. BUT, in states where they have weak laws (like Vermont), and where O'Reilly has called their politicians to task, it is O'Reilly, not the politicians that the "fair and thoughtful" media has dragged through the mud. So, who would I release? No one - shoot the pedophile and make room for the drug dealer. Or just shoot them both, wouldn't hurt my feelings. I have exactly zero use for either group of individuals!

Basil

(Hope I've not been too vague in my opinions)
