Good block, good head, check out my crank shot.

Yahoooooooooo.

Block and head red inked; Magnafluxed; pressure tested
(appropriate as to each, of course,) and both checked
out fine!

The metal on the head looks as if it were melted and
the material rolled up a layer one atop another creating
what looks to be cracks. Dipped these puppies, and
with better vision and testing, we're good to go!

Now, my attention turns to the crank. Just for sake of
discussion, I'll show you a pic I have, though we can't
tell much from just looking....but, hey, we like pics
to look at. I know I do. So here you go...

Not nearly clear or concise enough to tell anything. Need a better look at the journals and the area around the thrust bearings.

We'll need clear close-ups to give any advice.

Can you get it out and take some shots? Show the bearings too, but DO NOT mix up the caps........either on the rods or the mains.

Hey 2 !

When you take the close-up, could you put an arrow pointing
to the thrust washers? I'm sure I will have to replace mine
in short order and I don't know where they are located.

thanks, yer gettin' good at photos,

d

You're up late Dale.

You must have tomorrow off?

Actually, the crank is at the machine shop for
diagnostic purposes. While not all testing will be
completed until after they return from holiday, they will
Magnaflux the crank, hopefully, by noon today, which
should be a pretty good indication, for starters.

And Dale, not quite so hot on the pics. I resized that
puppy and think, like, more of the shot should have
been there.
