Going Too Slow??

Ever get pulled over for going too slow? LOL! When my son and I went to the last show, we were on the turnpike section of highway 412, we were changing speeds quite a bit checking things out, using a gps system, the minimum speed is 50 mph. After paying our toll and started to pull away, red lights were flashing behind us and we pulled over. A very young State trooper, looked to be just out of high school, asked for drivers license and registration. I asked him what did he pull us over for? He said for the last mile we were driving below 50 mph, the minimum speed! I said, how slow were we going and he said 47 mph!! I started to laugh, but thought this kid is fresh out of the academy and might take offense, so I said, gee officer I didn't think we were going that slow, we'll kick it in the a-- from here on, thank you for your concern. He gave me a warning and we were on our way. We must have laughed, off and on, for the rest of the day! My son, who can't keep his mouth shut, has spread the word. Every once in a while someone will ask, get any speeding tickets lately? :highly_amused: PJ

:highly_amused: That is hilarious Paul. Growing up near turnpikes I have always seen the minimum speed limit signs but have never heard of anyone actually getting pulled over for it though.

Be very glad to see it here. Seems to take forever to get from one small town to the other here on 2-lane roads with lots of no passing and the seniors driving 35-40 in a 55 with a state minimum of 45.

Over here in SC, your insurance cost is closely linked to your driving recording
( in the form of points).
if you get to many speeding ticket "points" against you, they can even cancel your insurance & suspend your license.

So that raises the question ; how many points do you get for speeding to slowly?
maybe you get negative points?

Never thought of that Guy! Maybe I can build a nest of negative points just in case I get a tail wind going down hill sometime and slide over the limit! :highly_amused: PJ
