Going to have to fit another radiator

Been thinking about it. The bugeye hood is not going to work with that radiator and that is the reality of it. The radiator in the car is for a 1275 and someone has sweated on a 90 degree elbow and did some other things to make it work for the 1500. That Extra elbo is hitting even with the bolts out of the radiator allowing it to drop an inch or so.
I need to find something that will work and not cost a lot of money. Time to go a "junkyarding" and see what I can find after I take some measurements.

Need a BE radiator?

On RickB's car (with a Datsun A15 engine and Bugeye front) we found that the early radiator worked fine. We had to do something to the R/H headlight bucket but that is about all.

If you decide to go the Metro Radiator Route there is one available for an automatic trany that you can buy new that comes without a transmission cooler and it appears to be only 12" tall. That might be the route to go as well depending on where you need radiator outlets to be.

BTW I do have a crossflow radiator on Bugsy with a BE Bonnet. The clearance on top of the shroud is tight but with a little trim on the shroud corner I was able to make it work with a Crossflow.

Nope, the Bugeye radiator fits just fine with the headlight buckets.
What we had to adjust was the 'ducting' area in front of the radiator, it was touching the front of the radiator so it had to be cut back a little.
It keeps the Datsun 1500 cool with an electric fan.

hmm, Kim, I got one of each in the shed. Or you can have both. Same price, free.

Kim, you want to fit a Bugeye bonnet to your square body? All they are good for is gouging the top of your head (evil grin)

Hap,

Not if you forward tilt them.

radiator is in the post.
