Going 5-speed

That's not necessarily true (regarding the F). I got a chance to pick up a 210 tranny real cheap on craiglist last summer and took it up. There was no F stamped on the housing (and most of the other identifying numbers didn't line up). We had a whole thread regarding this earlier in the summer, the end result is that it's a 5 speed dog shift pattern tranny.

Basically the advice is, don't rely only on the stampings, shift the unit through all the gears and make sure there are 5 of them.

It is the 210, not the B210 that has the 5-speed we need. See the Rivergate site for all the info to tell them apart.
 
OK I see it, it's in Lumberton which is 90 miles away. Pretty good. I'll think about it and see if I might bump it up the priority list.
