Goin' for th' trunions.

I've a shed full of BUCKETS of LBC bits, can't believe ~somehow~ I don't have crossmember components for an MGB.

I feel sooo inferior just now. :smirk:

Lemme know....if necessary, I've got complete front ends we can disassemble.

THX, Tony. It'll be in th' next few days I'll figure the best path with regard to minimal colateral damage.

<span style="color: #FF0000"><span style="font-size: 17pt">ARRRGGGHHH!!!!</span></span>

Just split th' SECOND 5/8" socket on this stoopid steering arm BOLT!!

Unbelievable. This one was a MATCO 1/2" drive... now I gotta chase a truck. When I catch it I'm gonna pee onna tires. :madder:

Day 10: The beatings continue. :jester:

HEAT, Doc, HEAT!

Oh YEAH, Tony. PLENTY o' heat. *bubble-bubble* PB quench and repeat.

As long as I can see PB goin' into the space I know it'll let go eventually. I just have to "out-patience" th' bloody thing. It's only been a two day ordeal so-far.

That die grinder is startin' to becon me tho.

Took it with me to the shop, put th' windy to it after all that soak/heat/beat... it's apart. Bolt is too paggr'd to reuse. I hate havin' my tools fifty miles away!

Now for a parts list to complete this odyssey. *sheesh*

Yeah, well I broke a bolt off in the frame of my 'vette yesterday....had to drill it out which meant I ruined the captive streads inside the frame...so, now, I have to cut new oversize threads......gawd, I hate it when things like that happen!

How 'bout an insert as a fix? If it's a blind hole, Marson has some nifty inserts. I'll call ya t'morrow AM in any case.

I hate Corvettes. :jester:

Probably going to have to do an insert....having problems getting to it to cut new threads.

Too thin.

Again: Marson makes some aircraft stuff that'd put it right.

Shoulda said: "Frame's too thin"

Not that its too thin, its just in a place where there's a curve in the frame nearby that's blocking my tool.

And the captured nut is still in place so there's plenty of meat to thread.

OOofff... so it's an issue of "patience"!!! :jester:

...& I've run out! Moving on to another part of the project....ordered 4 255/60R15 B.F. Goodrich TA's today so I'm installing the spare tire carrier to see if they'll fit inside before I buy the 5th....probably gonna have to buy original size for spare.

Yeah, you're likely right. There ain't enuff room in there t' swing a dead cat, let alone fit a REAL tire!!! :jester:

Tony, I got tied up in that Jag over the last part of the week. Did ya solve the thread issue? Some times a square-head socket and 1/4" extension can get you extra length between the tap and handle.
