For anyone interested, I have (finally) completed my report from our trip to GoF West 2007. We drove our TC from the Los Angeles area to Park City, Utah, taking scenic routes wherever possible. I expected it to be miserable driving to a destination across the hottest parts of the US in July, but the trip turned out to be quite enjoyable with many memorable experiences.

The address is https://mgnuts.com/mg/events/gofwest2007/ where you will find five pages with over 300 photos.

Great site - I just went through it - wonderful photos...Some are even artsy!!

I'd still be worrying about all that salt.

Nice pics Steve.
Brave group.

You could make your own calendar for the next decade with all those wonderful pictures!!! A trip like that is the stuff dreams are made of!! Thanks for sharing!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Steve- you have my respect for attempting that trip, and admiration for making it go so well. The pictures/narrative are must reading for any of us that think we can't make a really long trip in an old LBC. Great Job!!! There was a TC with a spotless engine compartment at a show I attended today,
and I immediately thought of the pics you took of the same scene. Out of curiosity, what were your fuel and oil consumption rates???

Nice write up, Steve. It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife while you were in my neck of the woods. Y'all come back there's more great roads to be driven. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Thanks guys. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif We got approximately 22 miles per gallon over the 2,200 miles journey. 2.5 Quarts of oil were required for topping off. Other maintenance on the road included greasing the suspension and steering, repairing the speedometer on the first day and oiling the distributor and generator once.
