It's definitely a work in progress and I'm just learning this website stuff, but it's been fun developing it.

It's far from complete since I just began working on it today and I'm sure it has some glitches and such, but I hope to carry it through along with the restoration.

Any input would be much appreciated.

The news on my frame situation has not changed since I last posted here. I'm still talking with the dealership who seems to be putting the emphasis on the consignor of the car, but since I didn't buy it from him, I don't see this as my problem.

The good news is that California definitely has some laws in my favor, so I'm going to write sort of a 30 day demand letter and see what shakes loose.

TR-4 Restoration Squared

Ok, honest opinion on your site:

Looks great! I LOVE the 1st page (I'm a big fan of carbon fibre), and the left hand nav is easy to use, and the engine start sound is pretty nice, dont sound to me like an LBC, but I still like it... little clumsy on the sub nav, but I use a 1600 DPI Razor mouse so its likely just me. The site and every page loaded really fast (except images/photos), and for me that says a LOT on satellite internet from the Middle east. The right side menu "images" that came up (after clicking on left side sub then images)... I'm not so sure about. 1st, I didn't even see it come up, and then the main page had a swirly animated icon for about 20 minutes (probably just my internet). Maybe making the right side menu word "IMAGES" larger, and maybe in Yellow, that would be perfect. The main menu "PHOTOS" takes me to the same screen as 2 other buttons on the left side sub menus, so I'm not sure you really even need those, but like you said, its a work in progress.

All-in-all, I say you got yourself a very pretty website. Can't wait to see the final product, of the site and the TR-4!

Thanks for the input!

Lol on the engine sound. I got it from some free sound effects website and it was named "British Sports Car". I would have recorded my own car, but as you can see, it's in a million pieces.

It's one of those XML & Flash module sites and some of the stuff I can do is limited. For instance, there's no way to make the full screen images any smaller for some reason. The images load quickly on my server with a cable modem, so it must be your server speed slowing it down. There are a lot of features I don't need and will be removing them, like the sub-menu's and stuff.

I bought the site template over at Flash Den for 40 bucks, so the price was right.

Your ideas are great and I'll see if I can do them without messing the whole thing up...lol.

Good luck dude, I know XML can be tricky. Tis why I like Python, sooooo much more forgiving. If you have the full code, don't forget to save it as a copy before modifying. I will never make that mistake again!

Nice but font is too small for my eyes. Can you bumpt it up a size or two? Kinda slick interface tough, different (a good thing.)

I think that you may have missed something up. All I'm getting is a "INDEX OF" page.

I need to get in touch with the guy who wrote this thing. The reason you got the index was because I had made some simple text changes in Flash and it screwed up the entire site. I'm installing a copy I made of the original again so it should be up in a minute. The text size drives me nuts, but right now I can't change it.

Tab,

Still some issues with the displaying of the pages and the picture galleries and the text really is a bit hard to read for my old eyes, so fixing those will be a big help.

What language is being used for the picture captions?

Everything worked for me! Great photos, loaded fast, can't wait till you add more. I may have to drive over to Covington to check it all out in person, one resto-mod to another. Keep up the good work.

It worked great for me. The pictures were a little slow but not bad.

I do not want to nitpick, but you missed an "n" in the sentence about when you found the problem with the frame.

The before picture looks wonderful, and I’m sure you will get back there.

Checked the site again and all seems to work now. No foreign language, larger type face, good pix. Looks great!

I guess I missed this episode; what's the deal ?

Take a look at the photos on my site of the frame.

These defects were hidden with bondo and paint.

I don't think the dealer had anything to do with it since the car was consigned.
However, whatever they sell has to be determined as "safe" by California law.
They have an agreement with the consignor that covers this stuff, but they've been trying to lay it off on him and his lawyer insofar as my beef is with him.
I didn't buy it from him, or have an agreement with him, only the dealer.

I'm getting ready to call them again today and only time will tell if they will own up to this or keep giving me the run around.
