Glove Box Lock

I am in the process of redoing the veneer on my dash. I have everything out and striped down, but I cannot figure out the lock on the glove box door. From the back with the chrome cover off I can get to a bezel type of nut. It loosens, but ends up getting blocked by the rest of the mechanism before coming off. There must be a trick that I am missing.

Re: Removing glove box lock

Have you tried with the key in the lock ?
Move it around a little for alignment of the inner parts

Re: Removing glove box lock

I figured it out. A very well hidden set screw on the front side. Loosening allows the bezel to be backed off completely.

Anyone know the thread size of that "very well hidden set screw on the front side"? Thinking it's a #4-40 or #4-48 unless it's some funky British size. Mine is missing. Thanks.
