Glazing side curtains

The window channel I found to fit my curtains provides a track width of 3/16 to 7/32, limiting me to 3/32 window panels. The 3/32 polycarbonate I find seems too flexible. Has anyone used it? I have thought about machining the upper and lower edges of thicker material to the 3/32 dimension. Can I use a router to do this or will the plastic explode?

1) Polycarbonate is more flexible than the original Plexiglass (polyacrylic). But I would bet, once installed in the frame, it wouldn't be a problem.

2) Yes, you can use a router and a SHARP carbide bit to do what you suggest. Dull bit or too slow feed will cause melting, but no explosions.
