Been working up for at least a year to this big convention.
Part of the convention is tours of surrounding participant's yards.

So, we spent a year getting all these walls in, dirt shovelled, equipment down, all sorts of stuff w
that required lots of help as I sure can't do it anymore.

So, at 0800 today, first ones showed up, last left at 1445 or so.

446 folks signed the guestbook, figure 10% don't, that about 500 folks here.
Had about 9 "operators", keeping things moving.

Oh, yes, National Garden Railway Convention tour, I was layout 62......about 1500 feet of track, 80-90 switches......all radio/battery.....

Wish I would have known Dave ,would have stopped by

JP!! This isn't THAT Forum!! :jester:

Give TOC his thread back and apologize...! LoL

What scale/ gauge? I've got LGB, Lionel, and Bachman. I had the track in the back yard until we got a new dog. She's older now, maybe it is time to start again. Are there photos of your layout?

T.T.

American Flyer here. It's "attic ballast".

TOC, Lots of work, I know. For me the best part was always all the smiling faces and looks of wonder.
The LGB thing is sad, hope it can be somehow brought back.
Have you seen the new Aristo control? Been thinking of switching to it.

of course, you're right, I apologize for my conduct(or). I will have to engineer a way to switch this thread to its proper station. That will get it on the right track and on schedule. No more lines here or I might get railroaded off these boards.

*GROAN*

...go to your room, JP.

I agree with doc, go to your room JP! Now!

OK...ENOUGH...I'm sure i'm not the only one who is really getting steamed! If this keeps up, we'll reach our boiling point and blow the whistle on the whole thing. Then you'll be fit to be tied!

Thanks for acknowledging crossing the line on this thread. this could have remained a real sleeper. We can use this thread to coach new members on proper etiquette. Maybe we can save the next contributor from getting hit in the caboose.

Now that that training is done, have a great weekend and enjoy some RxR!! Maybe a trip to the Home Depot?

Soon as I can figure out flicker or picassa, I'll get a link up on photos.
Dave

Thank heavens the "PUNishment" is over, I didn't have the training to handle that!! Nice pix!!

At least I included shots of the flatheads and my LBC in the gee-rahge.

Lionel here....30's and 1940. Anybody interested? Make a deal.

Got a basement of Lionel.
Mostly 40's and early 50's.

The new stuff has dropped the bottom out of the market on the old stuff.

Somebody GAVE me a maroon-top Erie Lackawanna Fairbanks-Morse Trainmaster.

No cracks, lubed it up, runs fine.

Used to be you couldn't touch those on a normal income.

Wow!! That trestle is great. I would like to have a trestle like that- one the folks would have to look up to see the train. American Flyer? Got that, too. Two rail track, the sound and smoke- the aroma of the smoke and ozone. Love it.
