So, my emergency brake is meager at best causing me to roll aimlessly through parking lots when I try and start the car. This is especially distressing considering my last post was regarding my brakes going weak under hard braking /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif! Now I'm going through the e-brake adjustment procedure in the Haynes manual, and for the life of me I can't see how this will affect the adjustment of the e-brake /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif. Quote: "Undo the locknut and screw each fork end along the inner cable so as to bring the compensator lever and the handbrake lever tight when pulled onto the fifth notch of the rachet." (sp. ratchet?)Maybe I'm not mechanically inclined enough, but it seems to me that following those steps will lead me back to assembling the brake exactly how it was before. Any enlightenment would be appreciated!
