Just looked at ebay, over 100 Triumphs for sale right now. Way more than normal.

Just could be that folks are very much hurting for cash considering the economy, gas prices and downsizing. Or, perhaps the prices are on the move again. Lots of euros and pounds to spend against the aenemic dollar.

I’ve noticed some recent TR6’s going for top dollar. Seems to me that prices are up right now. Maybe owners are trying to cash in.

A couple of months ago I posted a comment about how LBC pricing may be influenced by a recessionary economy. And, regardless of the formal definition of "recession", lots of people are hurting and may be facing the liquidation of assets in order to get fast cash.

It is here. This huge supply of Triumphs and other LBCs seems a real indicator of the depressed economy, I think.

I haven't noted a significant reduction in pricing, but it's bound to come.

I have considered that perhaps the reason LBC's popularity is on the rise is due to folks who say a year ago would have considered some American iron for a fun/project car, are now looking this way because gas prices are so dear.

People cannot be getting into this hobby to save gas dollars????? If that's the goal, buy a Hyundai.

With the cost of parts and repairs, even if labor is free, restoring a 30+ year old British car to make it a reliable daily driver will far exceed the gas savings earned.

The parameters I had when I bought the Traveller were:
1) Must fit 5 people
2) Must be able to carry my massage table - I am a Therapist.
3) Get good gas milage
4) Be reasonably priced.

The type of car was wide open. I did a search on Craigslist for "wagon"....and the rest is history...

I am an old car guy genetically. My dad was into old cars. For me the purchase was for the love of old cars, the other pieces just happened to line up too.

If i figured it out correctly, after everything I put into my car.

My average is 67.86/gal.= -18 miles/gal.
