I was associated with Penn Ohio through my father Bill Goldman and my Uncle David Burch starting around 1956. I recently have begun work on down loading slides from the Old Smokey Hill Climb as well as a gymkhana at the Boardman Plaza and time trials in Kinsman. I recently sent a group of pictures to Put In Bay from 1958 and am about to down load some from Cumberland gap in or about 1958. I also have some rally photos from the Natal at Cooks Forest and the VW Vagabonds out of Youngstown
Does anyone remember "Scuderia Left Turn" which was sort of the racing arm of Penn Ohio. They use to run at Canfield Ohio during intermission for the stock cars as well as other locations in NE Ohio and Western PA. An early member competing with them was Roger Penske.
How about the "Tri-County Sports Car Club" that ran at Therons Country Store in Columbiana Ohio.
Mom was Ruth Wright, they moved from Poland in the 60's to Lake Milton; then FL. She ran the dirt track at Canfield a few times in her MGA.
Was back there about 6 weeks ago on our way back from the national Daimler club meet at the Ursuline car show; sure has changed. I missed the 50th HS reunion so didn't know what to expect. Town does seem to be healthy; just too much commercial joining it to Boardman. And I miss the Polo field.
It has all changed. I've been gone for over 30 years. I'll check with my Dad and see if he remembers your Mom. Any relation to Holley and Robin? I hit my 40th reunion last year. First one, it was fun
