Getting Ready for Winter

Jags have the vents on both sides. I have never seen one with just a vent on one side. I am restoring a 120 right now and have researched them a lot so I am sure they never put them just on one side. As for the hard top I agree that if going solid blue then a white top looks the best.

IMO the hardtop really completes the look on the BN4/BT7. The hardtop itself is slightly better looking than that on the 2-seaters, again IMO.

I can tell you that driving for a few days going to a Rendezvous, Healey Week, etc. AC makes it a lot more comfortable.

Healey blue, I don't have any personal experience with XK120 except for a large scale plastic model I had when I was 8. So my comment about the side vents was based on photos I've seen in the ads in the Classics and Sports Cars magazine.
Here are a few examples from the web which appear to lack vents. I still think the XK120 was an amazing design although think I would choose the XK140.

Maybe the photos above are from when the car first came out. The red coupe with the vents pictured above is a very late model - a '54.

Looking at Google Images, the '52 has vents; '50 does not. Didn't see a '51.

The first aluminum (aluminium) bodied cars did not have the vents nor did the first few steel bodied cars. They did not get vents until early 1951, which the car I am doing now is an early '51, one of the first to get the vents. So either the car is early and has no vents or it is 1951 or newer and has vents on both sides. The Jaguars have a similar feel to the Healeys but are very different too so don't feel bad for not knowing all the different aspects of them.
