I'm currently in metro NY. Will be leaving early Sat morning and heading back to PA. Might have a strong tailwind :eeek:

I hope you and yours are okay.

Looks like the eye of the 'cane has weakened a bit, maybe it won't be quite as bad as predicted.

I've got some BIG trees starin' at me in my back yard, I sincerely hope they stay PLANTED!

The chain saw is coming out soon . . . :wall:

Sheesh: earthquakes, now a freakin' hurricane! :cryin:  :madder:

Thanks Mark. I actually got home at 2am this morning as I decided to leave metro NY around 10pm last night in order to beat any heavy traffic from people getting out of harms way.
Everyone be safe in the storm!

Nasty business, indeed. Watching that thing plow up he eastern seaboard. So much damage. Horrible.

Blustery and rainy here today, but we're far enough inland to keep out of anything serious. Hope everyone is coming through ok.

No need for a chain saw here, we had relatively minor winds and rain. We're about 180 miles from the coast here.

Richmond, 75 miles east, got hammered with about 750,000 people without power in the metro region. Seems the counties south of the James river got hit hardest. A fair bit of mayhem in Richmond.

Farther east, more problems and a couple of deaths. A tree fell on an apartment, killing and 11 year old child. Very sad.

And of course, videos on the weather reports of IDIOTS swimming in hurricane-churned waters. In once instance a couple of very polite cops escorted the fool out of the water and into the Police cruiser. I hope they lock him up for a few days!

Lots of Darwin awards in natural disasters like these . . . :madder:

Where did everybody go?.... we just got our power restored (14:20 est) it was out from 08:30 this morning.
Woke up to a big tree half down in my back yard. A huge limb was torn off and the splintered trunk is still standing; it will have to come down.
