Getting more horse power from a Healey 100

FWIW, we rebuilt my M engine, balanced, blueprinted, forged pistons, 10.5:1 compression, DWR 4 cam, alloy head with match porting to intake and header, lightweight flywheel and other components, run in on an engine dyno at a max of 150hp at top of range and max torque of 190 at low rpm. Disk brakes and new DW steering box reduce the terror somewhat.

Did you get a billet crankshaft? The 100s' crankshaft are known to fracture if run over 4K RPM for long:

Thank you. Not planning on revving as this is a fast road car, not a race car. Doing the Colorado Grand next week. The Crank was magnafluxed and hardened, the engine was built with Carrillo rods, venolia pistons, lightened and balanced flywheel and aluminum clutch assembly and a Welch harmonic balancer. We also installed a lower ratio rear end. That's about all we can hope for as Welch had a long wait time for cranks and pistons when we were building. With this much torque, the car doesn't need any high end revs.

There is always a Sunbeam Tiger for a fast British car
I have owned mine for 45 years and a smile every time I drive it. The smile is bigger with the 374 hp 302, but putting the stock 245 hp 260 back in now
