Would have, except it was on Static Display in The Soggy Bottom.

Sold the truck to a kid who is making it into a hot rod. Sold the crane to a guy who has a '26 International which is the correct period for the crane.

thanks for the info. Is there a difference in cabs in Model A's? you mention a difference in the cab rear window. This could be a 29,but when I got it the old boy wasn't to sure but claimed no difference from one year to the next.

Model A truck cabs changed (I think) in 1929 to use a larger rear window. They went to an all-metal cab in '31. I'll have to research it a bit to be sure of when they changed over. I'm pretty sure that the AA's changed about the same time. If I find anything I'll post it.

There was also a "Diamond A" in there somewhere. It had a more rounded shape to the cab. There used to be one at my grampa's farm. Wish it was still around, I'd love to have an "A". I lust for the one in Johns avatar.

I found a little more info - the Model A truck went to the larger rear window in 1930 when the "82B" body style replaced the "82A". I think many AA models switched at the same time but Ford (or their body makers) used some different rear stampings depending on the usage (dump truck, etc). The 1928 AA appears to have used heavy duty wire wheels which were superseded in '29 with disk wheels like yours. They also went to a Warner 4 speed transmission in 1929.

The serial number would give the year if you know it. I also noticed that they frequently changed the rear axle (worm drive, bevel drive, etc) frequently so that might pin it down.

Ben - I'm not sure what a "Diamond A" is but that doesn't mean they didn't exist.

Hemmings Motor News has an AA panel truck in their
museum - way cool!

Thanks John. never knew about the cab differences nor has anyone ever mentioned it.Would there be differences in bodies between US built and Canadian built as well? I'll check for numbers and look at the diff as well. It is a warner 4 speed and has apparently always had disc wheels.
Thanks again.
