Hello,

you can see on my username ,I`m from Germany. It is not important, but I can see the most boarduser are US or UK members. I`m 44 years old with family and two kids .
I have many experience with classic cars specially with the TR`s. Now I`m a little unhappy (I tell the story ...) owner, since 4 weeks , of an Austin Healey 3000 BT7 MKI coloured in pacific green. It is a project car with local rust from California US with a very good engine (all cylinder press 11 bar)and an absolutly orginal interieur. But...after buying the car on the ground I have the car on my pit(thats the correct word)? and what did I found... ?
Yes a bad repaired front accident.... The right frontend of the frame chassis is curved and turned. So that the both whisbone supports are also turned.... Thats now the real facts. OK was my mistake "don`t buy a car without carlifter..."
But now I`m here and I`m happy to found a healey forum.

I hope I`m welcome with my german accent

Hello, Michel -

Not to worry - your English is far superior to my German!

A warm welcome to the Forum! I'm sorry you have had such a negative experience with the Healey, but it sounds like it may be possible to fix it.

At any rate, this is a great spot for information and fellowship regarding British cars. We look forward to hearing more about yours.

Mickey

Michel

Welcome to the forum, your English is fine, and as Mickey said "a lot better then my German".

I am sorry to hear of your misfortune with the Healey. Maybe other's here can be of assistance.

It seems like you will fit in great here.

Pat

You are quite welcome here, Michel! Your Healey story is all too familiar. Much can be "hidden" with 40+ year old cars. The bright side is: they were engineered and built 40 years ago, so a lot of the techniques used are now common. You may find there are folks around you who can offer guidance and means to straighten it.

Good luck and post in the Healey forum here. You may get a surprise at how helpful those guys can be.

And again, welcome!

Hi, and welcome to the Forum. Don't be discouraged by the condition of your car, we all go through unexpected surprises with our cars. Welcome, and come on over the Healey Forum and post some pictures.

Hello
thanks for your nice sympathetic welcome posts.
I m not really discouraged , I wrote it I have some experience with the TRs :wall:
But a twisted chassis is some of the WC experience... on a healey. Disassembly of the running engine with the gearbox ... approx. 350kg.
A small challenge... for a privat man with small german standard garage. And a soft main beam ,keeps a soft beam after straithening. Because I think it would be "repaired" with high temperature...
Ok I did not want cry here....it is the normal way of thinking of the germans  . We live not in california....

Bye michel- who want post next time pictures about there car

Welcome Michael! I lived in Germany as a youth for a couple of years and my wife's family is from the Black Forrest area (south of Stuttgart). Sorry to hear about your Healey, but you're in the right place to get help!

Basil

"Ve Gaits" (Phonetically, Hello) Michael,

"Welcome" to the "BCF"; The most friendly and informative Brit Car site by far.

I was born in "Hamburg" myself (Long, Long Time Ago)! I did speak German for a very short period of time but being "Ukranian"; My folks started speaking "Uki" once we came to the states (Back in `49).

Sorry to hear about your Austin but as mentioned; Introduce yourself to the Austin folks here and you`ll be amazed as to the help you`ll rec.

Have Fun and Best Wishes,

Russ
