MGA Generator to Alternator Conversion MGA

I would like to convert from generator to alternator. I have an alternator bracket that I purchased form Moss motors to put on the "A". What style alternator do I need to make this conversion?
Does it eliminate the need for the voltage regulator? How many wires need to be hooked up?

Is it necessary to use a Lucas alternator?

Ray - One thing that is necessary to do if you are going to switch to negative ground. If you are going to do this, I would urge you to put some stickers in strategic spots on the car so mechanics or some future owner knows that the car is no longer the original positive ground. One more question; Can an alternator other than Lucas be utilized?

I think that the MGA Tech site has a list of recommended Alternators... I don't have time right now to corroborate that but will later today...

Does anyone have a copy of the Saturn alternator conversion that were once posted on the "onefastmgb" site? All of the archived posts point to this link and it has been off line for a long time. I am mainly interested in the "clocking" process..The website above does not show the clocking process..
