GEARING TROUBLE:

Was taking a spin around the neighborhood, shifted from 1st to 2nd and poof: NO GEARS!! It's in neutral and won't come out. The shifter continues to go in the "H" pattern but doesn't have any effect on the gears. The linkage appears to move with the shifter but has lost connection to the transmission part of the linkage. How do you locate and access the connector? I'm hoping the trans doesn't have to come out to reconnect. I have a AH Sprite and MG Haynes Manual and a AH Service Manual. Trying to figure it out. Anyone have any experience with this problem?

No expert for sure, but if it's shifting properly, I wonder if your clutch isn't engaging. So it "shifts" but engine power never reaches the gearbox.

So it may be clutch pedal linkage adjustment, or loss of hydra fluid?

Just a thought ...
