Geared Starter Fit?

Decided to replace the original Lucas starter with an after market geared starter from British Starters. It looks a lot smaller and weighs much less. Because of the shape (diameter) of the starter it doesn't seem to fit. I had to re-route the hydraulic line to the clutch slave cylinder but now the side of the starter seems to hit up against the edge of the passenger foot pan area. Looks like it needs about a quarter inch more clearance. Any one run into this problem? Solutions?
Thanks for any advice.

I think there are a couple brands of those starters. One of them you can remove the mounting plate and rotate it to a different position.

Roger that; mine came with instructions on how to index the motor to the mount.

I highly recommend this starter, it starts the car so fast, it scares you until you get used to it.

A picture of my starter, by chance, I was actually working on the oil cooler adapter.
