Gearbox synchros

I have been researching gearbox repairs and synchro durability seems to come up. What type of syncho's should one use.
Are Moss and Victoria British, Rimmer Brothers and etc equivalent? Has anyone used these and how long have they been installed?
If you can get them are new old stock best?
Thanks

Might google Quantum mechanics. He seems to be quite proficient in knowledge about british gearboxes.

The Roadster Factory claims their synchro rings are produced to their own specifications. I don't know if that is really true or not, or where the three companies you mentioned source theirs, but I installed TRF synchros in my gearbox over five years ago and it's still going just fine. Not an application for eBay parts, that's for sure!

The Roadster Factory's synchro rings are definately different from the other domestic sorces. I had the oportunity to see this first hand when our local club had our annual transmission clinic earlier this year. The club trans specialist brought synchro rings from all of the major parts houses and the ones from TRF were heavier and thicker through the teeth. They compared well to the factory original units while the others just seemed cheap.

I put syncros from TRF in TS 74011 L. Worked good and they seemed to be of good quality. There are MANY inferior parts out there...a cheaper price may not be the correct answer.

I must add that I did this repair in the mid-90's...not sure how the quality of the parts compare today.

A huge batch of synchro rings were made too thin. Then they don't work after a while or depending on how thin, they won't work right from the start. Till all these are purged from the stock-room shelves, buy from suppliers who know about this and can supply you with the thicker ones.
