I just finished replacing the engine/gearbox/OD/differential fluids, having put a 1000 miles on the rebuilt drivetrain. Aside from my travails with the oil filter canister (separate thread), I'm most pleased with swapping out SAE 30 non-detergent motor oil for Redline's MT-90 GL4 gear oil. I immediately noticed smoother, quieter shifting. It was an amazing difference!

Yes...that’s what he meant with OD! My OD would stick engage on 30w non-detergent. The Redline loosened it right up.

Is the OD serviced separately from the transmission?

Not sure if you mean is the oil changed separately, but no. Both the gearbox and the OD have to be drained separately, but are filled jointly.

Was that your question?
