Gear Shift Lever Thread Size?

David, what are BSB and BSC threads, please? I've nver heard of them.

Also, the French car maker was Hotchkiss. Their plant (usine) was in St Denis and you could still see the name high on the walls of the old plant back in the 80s.

I'm wondering if it's worth having my old one re chromed or pay the 100 bucks for a new one made from better materials. Needless to say that the old one is worn somewhat on the lower ball. Decisions, decisions, will it ever end? (Grin) PJ

Paul, I wrote a lengthy reply to your rechroming issue on another site so I don't want to repeat myself too much, but I would not bother rechroming. Either run what you have, or store the original away and buy a new one.

BSB - British Standard Brass. BSC - British Standard Cycle. See information at https://www.britishfasteners.com/threads/index.html

The spelling of the factory, was directly from the quote from Jerry Felper. I cannot vouch for the spelling.
Cheers,

I responded to that Steve. I agree, that's the direction I'm going. At least I saved the old one from the scrap pile, which was enjoyable I might add. PJ
