Hello all,

I have had this problem several times and it nearly bit me big time yesterday. I went into a curve and the road was a little wet and I had to get hard on the brake and it pulled to one side bad, causing me to spin out and come within a few inches of a guardrail. I have not even pulled the drum off yet but I am pretty sure this is the same problem I have had a couple times before. Does anyone know of a real cure for this? I have tried several things but its not working. One thing I want to do is block off and put some air pressure in at the axle and make sure it blows out the vent on the differential.

Are you sure it was the rear brake that pulled you that hard?

Regarding the oil leak. I've not had problems with the stock setup, but I know some people switch to a double sealed bearing.
 
Hylomar, 207FF Sealed Bearing, New Axle Seals, Axle to hub seals created from a Kroger Brown Paper Shopping Bag as Moss Gaskets are a touch too thick,. Now if I can get Bugsy to move on his own I'll let you know if it leaks. Other option is Creative Spridgets Rear Disc Kit. About $350-$500 solution depending if you go all new parts or can salvage junkyard calipers. Trevor installed this solution but concern is brake F/R Bias especially if you get into the wet stuff as rears will tend to lock up first. He's got an adjustable proportioning valve installed to handle that possibility mounted in the cockpit. That's the solution Bugsy IV will get once I get past new engine and tranny.
 
Oh and the best part about putting the different head on after lapping the valves and all is that I had a dead spot with the weber carb just off idle and it is all gone. very smooth power now. Must have been the valves causing that all along.
