car 1992 XJ6 3.2l

I know these cars have a slightly harsher gear change then the 4.0l but has anyone had the following issue and know a solution or is it just the gearbox itslf

done atf/filter change soon as got car..

ushifts are harsher then should be but gears are not slipping, downshifts are smooth as silk

Sounds like a Throttle position sensor adjustment or repair. You should be getting a trans failure light also.

What implications does a TPS out of adjustment have for the fuel injection?

no warning lights at all just harse gear changes

how do you adjust the throttle pos sensor, where is it located

The only way I know how to adjust it on your engine is with a Jaguar PDU diagnostics computer. The TPS is located under the throttle body.

It's possible that the clean out and the new fluid may make the harsher shifts. I personaly like the harsher shifts rather than the smooth ones. Smooth can be a sign of wear. Check a local independent transmission shop and do a line pressure test and maybe they can adjust your shift points to what you want.
