Gauge placement

I posted some pictures of my steering wheel recently and one of the comments noticed I have my speedo on the right of the wheel and my tacho on the left
The poster seemed to think they were the wrong way around on my LHD car
Looking at specs, my books, as well as parts suppliers, show RHD cars with the dash configuered that way
However was the LHD different with the two major gauges transposed with Speedo on the left and Tacho on the right?
What's the definitive answer....if any

Yes, the right hand drive and left hand drive cars are different. The left hand drive cars have the speedometer on the left and the tachometer on the right.

Yes I agree. I think it is because the tach should be in the center of the car no matter if LHD or RHD because it needs be closest to the engine for the cable.
