Gauge of fuel pump wire

Does any one know the gauge of the white wire that runs to the fuel pump? Is there a refrence that tells the gauge of wire used in our Healeys for different applications?
Thanks

Hi TH,

Just so happens I was hooking up the fuel pump today. It's a 14 strand wire. British 14 strand = 18 Gauge US

If you go to https://www.britishwiring.com and go to the Components section .. look at the wire (bulk) link and they have some info on strands/amps/and where it is generally used. You can also download the whole catalog .. the wire info is in there too.

Cheers,
John

HI TH, Use an AWG 16 guage wire. This will give you a 2:1 safety margin and is much easier to find.--Fwiw---Keoke

I'm splicing into the existing wire and didn't want to cause any problems with any change in resistance.
Thanks

This will not cause you any problem at all TH---Keoke
